Pinealon
Glu-Asp-Arg · Russian cognitive bioregulator
What it is
Pinealon is a synthetic three-amino-acid peptide developed by the same Russian group (Khavinson) that created Epitalon. It's part of their family of "short bioregulators" that target specific tissues — Pinealon is aimed at the brain. Used clinically in Russia for neurodegenerative conditions and cognitive aging.
How it works
Believed to penetrate cell nuclei and modulate gene expression in neurons. Animal studies show neuroprotection against ischemia, oxidative stress, and beta-amyloid toxicity. Mechanism is similar to other Khavinson bioregulators — epigenetic regulation rather than receptor agonism.
Benefits
- Neuroprotection (animal models of stroke, Alzheimer's)
- Cognitive support in older adults
- Reduced oxidative stress in brain tissue
- Often paired with Epitalon for full Khavinson protocol
Timeline
- Day 5–10
- Typical short cycle.
- Cycle 2–3
- Cumulative effects across multiple cycles per year.
Dosing & titration
Russian protocol10 mg subQ daily for 10 days, 2–3x per year
When to titrate upStandardized protocol; rarely modified.
Side effects & risks
- Generally well tolerated in Russian cohorts
- Limited Western trial data
- Mild injection site reactions
Most evidence is from Russian researchers. Western validation is limited.
Typical price
$80–$120 per cycleLimited Western availability; often imported.
